Terry Gabbard comes to Norcross with over 20 years of public school theatre teaching and directing experience. He holds a B.A. in Educational Theatre from the University of Florida and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Queens University of Charlotte. Mr. Gabbard is an award winning director and playwright who received the prestigious John W. Parker Award for excellence in directing in 2015. He has had numerous productions named “distinguished play” from the North Carolina Theatre Conference and three Best Musical wins from the Blumey Awards. He has published two plays one of which, Our Place, has been named one of the top ten most produced short plays in America High Schools. In 2020, Ardrey Kell’s production of Puffs was selected to perform at the International Thespian Society festival. Mr. Gabbard lives in Smyrna with his wife Erika. His son Ryan attends Kennesaw State University studying engineering and his daughter Kiera is a graduate of Appalachian State University and is now in graduate school pursuing a degree in mental health counseling from Northwestern University.
